Designing and Choosing Tiki Mugs
A mug has to look good to be appealing but construction should pay just as close attention to function. The design of a tiki mug alters the enjoyment and function of the mug when considering the balance size weight finish construction and details of opening and grips.
Because of the intermingling of function and form we were inspired to look beneath the surface. A tiki mug shouldn’t be difficult to hold or be overly sculpted and ornate. A mug should be easy to collect and have distinctive visual features.
The same intentions are applied to the use of color and glaze. Consideration is given to the sculptural form. Balanced colors can create a visually more elegant piece. Color can affect how the mug appears in natural light versus bar light or in a display light.
We especially strive to make selecting a mug easier. A choice shouldn’t be based solely on a photograph. Consideration should be given to intended use personal aesthetic display space and collecting goals. Regardless of how a mug will be used; a practical cocktail mug or an elaborate collectible we want our mugs to be enjoyed. Thoughtful selection is appreciated.
Our Stance: Character Matters
Character is important with tiki mugs and we think there's a reason why. We think these mugs capture the mood of your get-together and an easy example is a glass of water versus a tiki mug. Water is something you need but a tiki mug elevates your drink to the next level to give it more of a fun presentation.
